Less than 2 months ago, a major insurance claim was settled from last winter storm damage which included all new roofing, guttering, copper facing, etc. on our 300-year old house.
At 5 PM today, a 40 ft. ornamental cherry tree came down on the back wing of the house . . . unfortunately, on the original 17th century section. Between the snow and the leaves, it is hard to tell at this point the extent of the damage. But to the credit of our building contractor, Craig Postlewaite, an entire crew is on their way to begin the removal of the tree as darkness falls. Oh, and of course we are without power . . . :)
